Congratulations to Dr Subrata Roy, Founder and President of Surfplasma, on being selected for induction into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame! This recognition honors groundbreaking plasma-based technologies with transformative applications in healthcare, water treatment, food safety, aerospace, and space exploration. It is inspiring to see visionary innovation emerging from the University of Florida and Gainesville continue to make an impact on both industry and society. A proud moment for Florida innovation and research leadership!
SurfPlasma has reached a major milestone with its Active Plasma Sterilizer (APS), successfully validated in a NASA-funded zero gravity flight. The test confirmed APS’s performance in microgravity and advanced the system to TRL 7. APS delivers rapid, chemical-free sterilization using ambient air and low power.
